What is meant by an isolated versus a non-isolated power supply?

    A

In an isolated power supply the output circuit is galvanically isolated from the input circuit, normally the isolation is accomplished with a transformer. In a non-isolated power supply one terminal of the output is dc connected to one terminal of the input.
